If you're paying in loads of cheques and don't like being stung - £60/month FFS - there are a couple of things you can do.

1 - CHANGE BANKS! investigate Abbey and Co-Op

2 - If you don't want to change, put your excess balances into a high interest account . Hopefully the interest will more than offset the charges.

That'll be a fiver, thanks.

I have a business account with Natwest... I just think it looks more professional to have an account in your company name.

I'm still in my first year so I don't pay any charges at the moment. When they start charging I'll just switch to an Abbey business account, because they offer free business banking.

Being a bit nosey - what do you get charged for paying in each cheque? There must also be a monthly standing charge?

Yes it was. How do they rack the charges up?

Try Alliance and Liecester free business banking and it is exactly free. You can pay money in at any Post Office.  Their interest rate is average . Any problems are dealt with swiftly. I would thourghly recommend them.
