WHAT LADDERS DO YOU ALL USE just got some titan double extensions used them today first time they are a lot heavier than my old ones but they are like going up a set of stairs also had some octupus feet fitted the ones with the rubber studs does anyone else use these

The question is what type of ladders do you all use.

There's far too much WFP versus trad stuff here already so just answer the question.

I have a mixture of types of ladders and the ones I and my guys prefer are the Ramsey but we also get on very well with the Titan ones. I know what you mean about them feeling like stairs.

I use youngman ladders (tripple section & double section) Not sure what height they go

The tripple ones are very heavy and I only use them for a few jobs

I've seen many informative and usefull posts made by you.

Its just that far too many threads seem to degenerate into WFP versus Trad.

I have Youngmans as well BTW..  we do find them OK but a bit heavy. Especially a triple!!!!  (Mental note) "Dont upset Clearvision hes a bit too strong for that"

I need a triple set i think for a handful of jobs trad,did 3 jobs today at the limit of my current set and need a set giving me more height.

scuse my language but how the #### high do triples go i have a 16ft double & when im at the top of that its ta very much, triples must be well over 30 ft your getting into painters range there!!

Double 22, 12 and an eight step. All wood with ally rungs and rubber cup feet. Mainly from Globe Ladders in Birmingham.

Wouldn't touch aluminium ladders with barge pole.

I use a hardwood 8ft A frame and a double 19ft A frame aliminium ladder both made by Ramsay. We also have a 26ft triple ladder from Midland ladders which is aliminium.

We did have an 18ft extendtable wooden ladder untill it got nicked.

I prefer the feel of the wooden one but for usage, they seem as good as each other.

In terms of using, they seem pretty much the same.

Excuse my ignorance but when you say a triple ladder are you referring to an extension ladder or a sectional ladder

A youngman triple aluminium, but only use as a double too big and heavy.

Use for roofline cleaning / gutter cleaning.

Did have wooden ladder but never felt secure on it.

clow group class 2 light commercial  aluminium 2 piece and  pointers  the lot
 cant beat it for lightness- good life expectancy

above 24 ft youngmans class 3 domestic
used because of lightness at this height h and s will accept because shifting ladders at that height you need to look at safety before anything else and if your ladders are too heavy you could create more of a hazard, h and s agreed on this

until wfp came in now anything above 18ft is wfp

Why what is wrong with aliminium?

The main reasons are the weight and give/bend of wooden ladders, especially for higher laddering.

I used to use a set of triple extension 4.0m class1 industrial ladders, 37kg - they sorted out the men from the boys - I was well scared of them!!

jm try the same ladder with limpet bar and safety feet fitted and the weight doubles and you need to move it from window to window, this was the standard of safety equipment before wfp

and that seperated the boys from the men

I had the safety feet fitted and that was enough!!

I've still got them, what a brilliant set of ladders, nearly £400 but will last a lifetime, pretty scary at 30ft though, glad I don't do that anymore!

Ramsey pointers.Those B&Q specials are a joke.Too light and unsafe.Real window cleaners should use real window cleaning ladders.Ramsey are king
