Freedom trolley water stop
« on: August 25, 2006, 05:31:08 pm »
Hi
I am using a freedom trolley and was wondering if there was a device which i can attach to the end of my rod to turn the flow of water off.
This would save me doing it from the trolley.

Thanks Dave

glad you can afford to run a van and a full system. Some people cant, so why dont people stop knocking other people who are finding the best system to suit their budgets and capabities.

Since the ante Freedom Trolley vendetta some weeks ago hardly any supplier/manufacturer has posted so let the criticism lie down for a while - please!

I appreciate JM123 you are making a valid point  from your perspective but this could soon escalate into another ante this or that system thread

Dave...

I have an extension reel that joins into the hose that comes from the pump and then the item show in the pic joins that......and the your pole connector sits into that.

If you want I'll take a photo of it all connected and email that to you if you tell me...Good luck.

Cheers & hope this helps

Dave.

David

I have 4 of the Freedom trollies and I can see exactly what Dave is getting at. I do the same with mine and it works a treat.

Get a length of decent hose of around 20ft or so. In fact pop down to your nearest B&Q.  Get a double male adaptor. You plug this into the trolley outlet and then have your length of hose permanently plugged into that. You will need a stop connector for the trolley end and an on/off connector at the other end of the hose. This allows you to work without having to move your trolley around too much and not have hose trailing everywhere. I also got my guys hip holsters into which they put the on/off valve so its dead handy for them to plug and unplug the pole hose and switch flow on and off.

I am sure Andrew McCann would be happy to help you. His office number is 01472 347519. He can tell you where to get all you need. He put me on to Varitech in Plymouth for a lot of stuff. Sorry I havent got their number to hand but I am sure he will give it to you if you ask.

Thanks for all the info.
But is there any chance of pictures of the mods you have done to your freedom trolley?

Markybop...bought it here in Holland, cost about 6 euro's I believe.

I do not suppose that helps you out much but check out gardena.co.uk... they may be able to help.

hi pylofm,

i hav also got a freedom trolley and am looking for a hose reel like wot u hav to fit on mine. Could u tell me where u got it from and how much, or if any1 else knows where to get sumthing similar. all the reels ive seen r 2 big.

Also my ro unit is working well, the pure water is at 001ppm but the speed of the water coming out the waste is sooo much faster, the pure water just drips basically out of the pipe and into my barrel. Is this correct? i have a 210 litre drum and it took 2 and a half hours to fill not even a quarter of it?!? ???

Many thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. ;D

Hi Fenscouse....I'm sorry mate I cannot help with the reel ( I am in Holland ), perhaps one of the other guys on this forum can help.  It is a ratcheted reel 9m of hose, a bit like those they use for compressor airline hoses...

As for water I am getting aprox 13 litres of water at 000ppm an hour, yes and it is concerning that there is so much waste... :'( but at least you can have it go back into the waste pipe and it will be used again.

ps...I am not expert on any of this so take my words with a pinch of salt.

Cheers
Dave.
