There are lots of more effective ways of spending your money.

Ask them for the address of Childrens Research Fund , then if you wish to donate you can.

Cheers

To cut a long story short I was nearly caught by this lot a long time ago as they were trying to get me to buy advertising on the Herts Police Band calendar! I made some enquiries as they say and was advised there was no such thing, the local plod were interested in the scam and warned them off.
I was approached a few years ago to advertise in another local brochure, it wasn't the usual Estate Agent/Removals brochure but one that seemed plausible. I usually ask them to send me a copy of a previous brochure (which they never do) but this time I got one with Chem Dry in there so it seemed genuine enough.

(I bet you can all see where this is going can't you).

So I coughed up £90 plus vat as a deposit and did a  proof etc and arranged standing orders for the balance.
Well I never got to see the finished article of course and they got my money. They rarely answered the phone when I rang to complain and ask for a copy of the brochure, the sales girl was never there etc etc.
I subsequently found out that this lot are based in and around the Fylde and the Morecombe area, so beware beware beware if you get a call from any telesalers people just ask for a copy of a previous issue and ask where they are based.
When I chased it through later on, the CD guy said he had also been caught  and that if they produce a few copies they can't be done.
And yes I did stop the standing order.
It leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth I can tell you.

Have a look at the posts on Wall Planners for more info.

Basically they will charge £95 + vat for a postage stamp size advert and say they will send 15p in the pound to charity.
