Driving back home after working all day, I noticed a black Merc 4 by 4 parked on the hard shoulder with its hazards on. It was a slip road just before we enter the M8 motorway. There was a well dressed foreign chap standing in front of car waving any car to stop. I pulled over and he opened my passenger door and said thanks. Then the commercial began, " I have run out of gas and I need money, I am selling my car tomorrow and have to go back down to London to pick up my wallet because I forgot it. Can you help me, I am very rich and live in Dubai and over here to sell my car. I will give you my gold rings and bracelet as collateral and will call you tomorrow to buy my gold back from you." I had a look at the bracelet, it was rolled in gold crap and told him to call the police for help. He pretended to call so I called the police and he jumped into the driver's side but it was a left hand drive and was in fact the passenger's side and drove by me.

I had the foreign reg number and the police were very interested and began looking for them. It is getting to the stage that they will try anything to scam money from good Samaritans, meaning no one will get involved in anything in the future. Just want you all to be aware when out cleaning. 😇

Just trying to give everyone a heads up but will keep it to myself in future. I'm too busy now because March madness has came in early. Still have gutters to clear from December but haven't found the time yet.

This woudnt happen to me as im too selfish to stop, unless it was in obvious danger and there was kids or a fit bird involved. Stopping for a foreign looking bloke in a merc is screaming to be stabbed.

He probably thought eff this I'm off, it's that Scottish bloke off CIU and he'll be trying to give me a price to fix me fence.

This scam goes all the way back to the beginning of time in one form or another, it's like the fellas in the 90's that drove round service stations trying to sell you a suit that was worth a fortune for a pittance as they were just about to fly out the country.
