Only replaced the washers on mine once in goodness knows how many years .

Perhaps you’ve got a duff elbow…

It the new version . Only had it a 18 months . They did send a second swivel . And some extra washers . This is the third time it has completely stuck .it went from one in a 1000 has an issue . To they were getting more complaints .love the reel but want to buy a better connection .

Maybe worth going for the pure freedom reel master, more money but seems to be much more reliable…

Got to say because they gave me an extra swivel and a few extra washers . And the swivel lasts 6months I can probably last another year . In the mean time going to source a better swivel connector . Once I work out the size is the threaded screw . Rest of the reel is perfect .
