Auto shut off 4040 ro
« on: February 12, 2026, 09:42:52 pm »
Hi,

I'm getting an new van , el3ctric this time and I'm planning my setup as I'll be selling the current van with the whole system.
At the  moment the Ro system it's in the van and I'm planning to keep it of the van for the new one .
I'll be keeping it in the garage but I don't have space for a holding tank.
The plan is to filter the water  straight into the tank in the van and I'd like to avoid overfilling it . So there system would need to have a auto shut off.  The ro system will be boosted aswell.
So not sure how to go about it regarding the auto shut off .
Any ideas.

Thanks

You need to put a ball valve in your tank so when it’s full it’s shuts the water coming in off but having said that not sure how you stop the booster pump from stopping pumping  but I’m assuming it will recognise the stop of flow

Here's mine....a powered PF 4040 (with solenoid) mounted on a piece of worktop with heavy duty castors. I drop the  vertical shut off valve in the top of the tank via a wire coathanger. Works well! ;D

price higher/work harder!

Speak to Ian at Spring controllers or a cheaper option is a Clarke CBM240E

I just put this around the hole at the top of my tank. The stainless steel, vertical float valve was £8  from amazon

A few questions. Does that float stops the booster pump and water flow?
Also is that powered ? And how ?
How exactly is that fitted?  before or after the prefilters?

I was thinking something likes this .

Mine came powered from Pure Freedom but I changed the horizontal float valve (in your pic) to a vertical one so I could just drop it in my tank. Yes it stops the water flow(I don't have a booster pump)

I think he’ll need some sort of controller to stop the booster pump. Not just a 12v float & solenoid. That’s the problem.

You need a float switch to stop the booster pump.
