Recession or not my prices are still going up as my bills go up as well. Extra £40 a month for water as of today and all the other council tax, energy prices, it sucks but it must be done otherwise why bother.

Reading in the paper yesterday that 120 recruitment agencies have shut down. First time in 15 years that the opposite is happening because every month one was opening up. Talking to one of my customers who was doing well in the by2let industry but his mood has changed. He was saying I have a good business which seemed a bit bizarre. Noticed the range rover has gone and a nearly new van has replaced it. I have plenty of OAPs as customers and always give them 10 minutes of my time when collecting cash. I understand many are lonely and they look forward to a fresh pair of ears.

Not sure if it's connected to all the recent price rises but this month I have had the most "can we leave it this time please" in 16 years of window cleaning. Hope it's not a sign of the times...
Also because of the stamp duty changes I had a stupid amount of customers move away, although that should hopefully calm down now.

I agree....I've put at least 80% of my prices up this year which equates to an extra few grand a year. If I'd of stuck with DI only in my new home it would of all gone on resin!😂🙄👎
price higher/work harder!

I've had one say that and I've dumped her as it's around the 5th skip in 2 years,no reason given just sticks a note on front door and this is AFTER I've cleaned all her back and side windows.....she can have that clean for free but I will never clean her windows again now. Luckily for me a picked her neighbour up at a higher price so it's a win win.

I've had a very good month and picked up half a dozen jobs through recommendations and walk ups and I've got an extra spring in my step as I finish the last of my price rise notification letters due to dry weather and being happy in my new home. Just took delivery of my new RO system which just completes my period of renewed passion for the job! I can kiss goodbye to expensive  resin changes every 2 weeks!🤣🤣👍

Resin saving of £120 a sack will soon pay for the r/o.

I had a DD customer for a tenner a month and she called me to cancel. It was the hardest clean I ever have and was desperate to shout out Halleluiah. I know her partner and rumours doing the rounds that where he works is closing down. Anyhow, I clean across the road from her and the neighbour next door text to tell me to start cleaning his. He was the guy that had the chancers that only did the bottoms and don't do the doors.

One door closes and another one opens in this game but I'm glad I cover add-ons because it breaks the monotony.

With all the stories I have heard and seen I am going to write Firesdo a blog about the retained fire service, if it takes off I'll need to cut down my window cleaning.
