Softwashing Lichen and Walls
« on: November 30, 2022, 06:28:19 pm »
How dee do dee.  Recently asked to clean wall of a spa.  Large wall and it was discoloured.  It  was green lower down and darker higher up.  Thought biocide first and then went with Bio cide.  the green was taken out immediately as you would expect, but the dark remained.  On closer expection it was lichen further up and the hypo has not tocuhed it.  I then put some biocide on it and have left it.  Anyone experiience on biocide and lichen.  Am i going to have to jet wash after all? .  Thinking of Patio's, Lichen will not come off without a jet wash after hypo.  I had wanted to avoid jet wash as not an easy wall to get to.  Any suggestions more than welcome.  Thanks Jack.

see your thread on the window cleaning section....

a bit more thought on it would be the upper wall is discoloured and stained - without a photo difficult to know but you would need a more specialised treatment

Lichen will 100% be removed with Hypo - and whatever overpriced branded "biocide" treatment used - of course it may take a few weeks to work effectively

Anything other than green takes weeks more like months to come clean. (I actually much prefer bio over hypo where possible).

Hypo will remove red ,black and green straight away if you know what you are doing , biocide is what takes months to work
