Marks on a door
« on: October 11, 2021, 03:29:17 pm »
Got a message about what looks like white bird poo marks on a door I cleaned Friday.

Been to look today and it seems like some kind of bleach or chemical has got onto the door.

At the moment all civil, customer states cameras don't show anyone throwing anything on the door which means I'm the last person.  I wfp'ed the door Friday along with the two panes of glass .

There are no marks on any of the frames or glass, purely on the door. Seems as if something splattered on the door when the door was opened.

It's a job I sub from a cleaning company. I've explained to them and sent pictures. I know the owner well and she is in agreement it's not something I have done.

its a bit strange - have you got a photo of the whole door ?

did you spray any TFR on it before cleaning ?

What I will say, and the likes of Daz won't like it, - sometimes whether we know it or not we could have caused a stain/damage by simply scrubbing in an already existing chemical residue ..

Not saying anything was done deliberately but if you were the last to physically work on it... then .....

Bird crap can discolour plastics, as well as bug shite.

Some caustic cleaners could easily cause this, including bleach. I bet she came out and gave it a clean after, like some of these proud types are prone to do so, once you left.

Wfp only and cleaned the entire door and side windows Inc frame at the same time. It is only the door that has the marks and not the frames or glass .

No tfr used and is the second time I have cleaned it being r weeks prior

Got any more photos? It looks like splats of white paint to me.
We look at them, they look through them.

I would tend to agree with bungle - what's the mark 1/4 way up on the right hand side ?

that looks like a scuff or paint mark that someone has tried to wipe off..

and how long between you cleaning it and the complaint coming in?

IMHO

if this is the case i would say its the person who left that chemical residue, but us for coming and cleaning it at the customers request.

i take the same line with concrete on glass. if the concrete is on the glass, its already scratched in effect. its not our problem for coming and cleaning it off
