We have had different experiences then. My metal banded poles used to snap 2-3 inches below the metal band. There must have been a reason he stopped making the metal banded poles.😁

Yeah they had a weakness, very thin carbon, but I was always gentle.

Don’t dismiss my main point, the mk3 is a better pole, by a long way, I don’t dispute that - it’s just it would be ridiculously good if it had thin metal bands where the clamping sections are.

Probably, but he’s never going to want a pole that lasts indefinitely  ;)
