Are you always on time with your customers ?
« on: June 26, 2020, 11:06:11 am »
So im always about a week or so behind on my work. Customers are never bothered and never notice. I’m sometimes between 7-10 days behind on my work thats due.

Is anyone else always behind  ? Or are you always on time every month or 2monthly

I was always on time, for years without fail because i worked in rain or shine.

Covid has messed my schedule up though and my work is all over the place.  I will have it sorted before end of the year though so im not worried and customers have been great.

Generally i dont think customers care if you are 1-2 weeks late.  The ones who do care are the ones who are either fussy or annoying anyway i have found.

If you're 10 days late that's a lot of money lost over the year

I can't say were never late  as you can have rain on the day - but we have never been later than 3 days - we run a tight 4/8 weekly schedule and the customers get a next clean date which we hit 95% of the time

If you are a new cleaner then you have to keep as close to their scheduled clean as possible. However, many are understanding of the Covid situation.

Once you have become established as their window cleaner then its not such a big deal. But there are some old ones who are always on the phone asking when we are coming.  Its the squeaky wheel that gets the oil so I try to pay a little more attention to these ones.

we're always on time.

we give our customers our next due date on each visit.

we clean 4 weekly and clean whatever the weather. the only time the weather stops us is if we cant get the van off the drive.

if we are late because equipment has broken down or sickness, we catchup the same week normally

I'm pretty much always on time for my customers giving them the next date at the end of each clean and sticking to it.  I like to be super organised in that regard.  Occasionally if there is a day where I can't work at all due to really heavy rain or what have you then  I'll always try and go back to those I've missed at some point within the next week.

Im mostly on time but shift some work about here and there....

What about time off and holidays?none of us can keep to our schedule 100% of the time.......

For instance I've moved some 4 weekly work due next friday afternoon to the week after as I'm having my gas boiler serviced that afternoon....
price higher/work harder!

I’m trying to juggle as we have to cover childcare until our son goes back to school.
So home schooling in the morning and dashing out at 2pm when my partner gets home from work.
I do get 4 full days a month when she has weekdays off/ working weekend.
Luckily customers been ok so far.

Always a week or two behind.
Most of my customers don’t even notice.

Corona has played havoc with my round. I took a month off as directed by the government. When I started back all my 8 weekly work was due so I worked like a mad man to get everyone a clean in thinking I might lose them by not turning up. Now I have a problem, all my 8 weekly jobs fall at the same time whereas before I’d do half one round and the other half the other round so spreading it all nicely. I will wait till Xmas and shuffle it all back into place, hopefully.
We look at them, they look through them.

It’s bad enough you sharing your earnings on here, but really, that’s too much info! some things are better kept private 😂

I have had this problem also.....I had 6 weeks off, and was scared of losing customers.
so I filled the second month with gutter cleans to even it out.
I am going to gradually sift it back over the coming months.

We are usually about 2 weeks in front on the monthly work. And about 4 weeks in front on the 2 monthly work .

I've just sold a few days work off as sick of being behind and chasing my tail.

Probably end up building it back up again in a few months I just can't say no
