Low water pressure Merlin/ Pentair
« on: November 03, 2019, 07:48:48 pm »
I have just moved to temporary accommodation
and the water pressure is ridiculously low. So low that my Merlin/ Pentair filters don’t switch on. Any suggestions?

Buy water from someone else or test tds - if it’s low enough then just DI

You still need enough volume of water for a booster pump to be effective.

One option would be e.g. 300gpd unit with a booster pump. Production rate slow but should work on a lower volume of water supplied to it.

What booster pump would you use for a Merlin.
I need to find a solution to this as I have been getting water from a friend for a while but it’s starting to get a pain.
So would you boost the Merlin / use a 300gpd unit ( may not be practical as I use 700ltrs 3 days a week)
Or get an all singing all dancing mains pumped static unit 40/40 ££££££!

How permanent is this temporary accommodation?

How many litres of water per minute do you get from your tap fully open?

Do the neighbours have low water pressure as well?

Did the previous tenants/owners not pay their water bill? If this is the case then the water authority in your region could have turned the water off. (They can't turn it off completely for health reasons but they can restrict the flow to a trickle.)

If your Merlin was working, would you process pure directly into your van's tank or do you have storage facilities?

I will test how many ltrs per minute.
I do have storage facility - a garage.
The tap is actually in the garage but low pressure.
I plugged the Merlin in under the sink in the kitchen near the stop tap - again pressure too low
