£60-70 down here. Probably around a tenner up there daz? What’s a loaf of bread in Manchester? Sixpence?

Any excuse to share a pic of your little van 😎

Adam, Just my two pence worth, but rather than thinking £30 for 30 mins, think £50-60 for 30 mins, (I know your up north)

I sometimes say to people ‘your not paying for my time, your paying for your windows to be cleaned’

That sometimes means earning 50, 60, 70 odd in one house that takes 30-40 mins...

I have an £80 house that takes 50 mins, and a £100 house that takes 1 hour. Both pay, not for the time, but for the job to be done well. Regardless of time...

Just a thought mate 👍🏼

There is no way I would get £70 for that in my area.

No one is paying £70 for window cleaning, that's a ridiculous amount round here lol

Mind you I don't think there's many houses that big where I am, my biggest job is one £30 job the rest are £20 or less.

I'm happy with £40-£50 an hour that's more than most certainly up north.

i always price up on how long i expect the job will take me....i just overestimated this one.....i thought each house would take around an hour(i priced up on £40 an hour when i picked these up over 5 years ago now).first cleans did take an hour but regular cleans no more than 30 mins each.....

they are always dirty even though their 6 weekly due to the amount of trees and shrubs around them....

Call me old fashioned but if I found out my cleaner was putting pictures of my house on the internet and gloating how he was making £80 an hour out of me the word “professional” wouldn’t be the first description I’d be thinking of!

Daz, does not travelling time come into the equation, £80 an hour is very nice but if your in the van 30minutes getting there then another 30 mins getting to your next job,its down to £40 an hour straight away,  :-\

what makes me so efficient is all the below factors....

1.lots of work concentrated in one area (built up over many years)
2.im very organised in regards to work schedules(cp helps with this)
3.hot water and a high flow
4.electric reel
5.electronic payments(drastically reduced collecting)
6.short working days so i can condense my energy into a few hours work
7.i know my work so well(best place to park, problem windows, etc)

so my 25-30 hour working week INCLUDES admin, purifying water, putting batteries on charge, chasing debts,etc...

What’s with all the Dazmond hate on this thread? 😂

I’ve met him a few times, he passed a few one offs onto me when I was getting started.

I know the area he works, I live about 2 miles from it. The ‘council estate’ work he has, isn’t really a council estate, it’s a load of semi’s that are priced at £250k -£300k, a lot of money for the North.

If you think he’s just willy waving with threads like this then fair enough, but I’d rather read his positive posts than any of the negative rubbish that the usual suspects come back with every day.

No hate towards Dazmond here mate, I was just wondering is all.

I’ve personally found that the longer I’ve gone on the less I care about how others perceive how I go about things, and the less gratification I need from others is all.

Considering Daz is so refreshingly positive, I was just surprised it bothered him.

I would have charged a bit less than you (however, those skylights deserve a premium).
But I wouldn't have posted it on here!

Do you have to open both doors everytime you do a clean pal looking at that reel positioned?
I’d hate that especially on a windy day!

Do those rear doors lock in place by pressing the hinges in like the custom, of so nothing to worry about any wind catching the door and closing it😉

Do you have to open both doors everytime you do a clean pal looking at that reel positioned?
I’d hate that especially on a windy day!

no mate.....ive only got both doors open because i use both my 25ft and 47ft poles on this job..... ;)

i normally just leave one open(left one)when working/reeling out

What's this thing?

Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism, as I understand it - George Orwell
