Ian Lancaster package/ Franchise agreement
« on: August 11, 2019, 07:16:56 pm »
Has anyone used the Ian Lancaster franchise package? I’m needing a franchise agreement made and wouldn’t know where to start doing it myself

Yes, I used Ian's package and it's a much easier and lower cost route than going to a specialist and doing it yourself.

Thanks Tom. I’m assuming the contracts you can buy from websites on google wouldn’t cover everything in the window cleaning world? I was looking at some costing around £50 but I assume you get what you pay for?

I believe so yes. Ian is a good guy and it's well worth giving him a bell for a chat even if you decided to go another route.

I did buy the package, never been used as finding a franchisee is not easy.

One of the other guys who bought it told me they had it "updated" at the cost of around £400.00 as although the agreement covered most bases and is good enough to get you started, it did need some adjustments. What the adjustments are I can't tell you.

Ian's a very knowledgable bloke and very helpful, you get access to a forum full of other franchisors (doesn't get used much) so if you do plan to go that route then I would say you need to speak to Ian.

I personally feel as though I wasted a grand and a half now as what I have realized is I can make a great living working short hours without the stress of relying on others. I make 60k profit for around 30 hours per week.

I did like the idea of not having to work as much but I feel like a finely tuned race car and if I didn't work then my body would miss it, I wouldn't fancy doing 30 hours per week of zumba or something else to get as much exercise as I do now, its great for the body.

We all need to do a certain amount of work, look at the fat lazy fat cats who have an easy life, Its not for me.

The wife does help out a couple of days per week too, but I've worked hard for a decade to get here and it'll keep getting better.

If your profit is 60k , then your turnover must be a lot higher? Is it 60k after expenses or 60k turnover?

Me too... But if you look above you can see the turnover is less.

Why has this topic flipped from franchise to earnings :)..

Shrek.

His personal tax affairs are individual to each person. Firstly £15,000 expenses working by yourself is definitely about right for that sort of turnover 75k.
Secondly if he is working via a limited company
he will be able to pay him self whatever he likes
Not many people unless they have a serious surplus go over £50,000. It's likely the other £10,000 is rolled up in the company or his missus when she helps out is paid appropriately.

Everyone's tax situation is different he may not even take much of a salary and mainly pay corporation tax obviously if other income such as property rental profits....
If that profit is self-employed obviously the tax is pretty high but with that sort of profit going limited is definitely the best way to be.

Have been limited 12 months now, me and the wife take around 17k each. It costs me around 10k to run things which leaves a nice lump left for the taxman to get his claws into and a little for me and wifey after.
