Hard water marks
« on: July 25, 2019, 12:08:37 pm »
This time of year I find a few customers with hard water marks on downstairs windows

Hosing plants and splashing windows

Or kids having water pistol fights 😏

Favourite is unger rub out
Couple of splats on the brush and scrub and rinse 👍

Does anyone know where to get unger rub out

Many chain store
Or anyone know a good alternative

Very rarely buy trad stuff now
Would be easier to get something local

Thanks lee

I use a spray from Bnq, which is readily available incase I should run out. Spray on, leave whilst do another window and come back scrub n rinse.

I used to have a customer who rinsed his car weekly on his drive with his karcher and constantly sprayed the downstairs bay.  I  always had a word with him about it, cause he never got it in his thick head that my water is pure unlike his tap water.  I even put the price up due to it, thinking this would stop him but sadly it didn't.
Now he cleans his own windows

I ‘ve been playing about with a squirt of Harpic limescale remover. Seems to work well but is based on hydrochloric acid (eats metal) so prob not as safe as citric acid.

After wetting with pure a quick rub with a scraper usually does the job.
