i am fitting another van up and wondering if i can get a pole for domestics that will do everything on a day to day round. i have a big pole on my first van... but it barely gets used on a daily basis.. what owuld you chaps recommend?

im a bit of a gardiners fan so buy of them.. but what length?

It would have to be a 35ft for me, I have a lot of customers with dormers set back on the roof and velux windows.
This is another advantage of a tubeless setup, I could work with just the top 3/4 sections, then quickly and easily add on the extras when I needed them.

Totally agree, 35ft for me too. I use the extra reach a lot  of the time.

I suppose it depends on the type of work you do, but how do you 25ft guys reach the veluxes?

I also keep 2 extra sections in the van so I can make it into a 40ft reach (I remove the handle then add the extra section with its handle) as I have 2 buildings that need extra reach.

i find my 25 ft pole reaches most velux windows too as well as 3 storey windows(even on some victorian houses)some are a bit of a stretch but still managable(im 6ft 2in)......

for anything higher i use a 47 footer.........

I have the slx 18 for the standard property.  Just nice to use a more lightweight pole  to make my day easier, then move to the 25 for the higher harder to reach houses.  This also lengthens the life of my slx25.   The 18 is cheaper to replace.

Slx 25 although I think for most of my work I could get away with an 18

Xtreme 22 with extensions.
Takes 1 minute to fit the extensions and go as high as you need.
Shorter closed length than the 25 and lighter. Less prone to breaking as the sections are shorter.

I'd sooner have more than less.
The 25 may suit 90 % of jobs but what then ?
Nothing worse than taking on a job at full stretch or not being able to reach.
I used to have a supermax 40 and a clx 27. The 27 did the bulk of the work and subsequently got retired after a few years. I then used the supermax 40 with sections removed to give the equivalent of an slx 25, adding the other sections when needed. When a couple of the top sections got too worn ( one snapped ) I bought a new slx 25, still continue to use the bottom sections of the supermax 40 when needed ( must be nearly 10 years old now with minimal wear ). Tubeless style set up makes adding / removing sections so quick and easy. So my point is I'd choose whichever pole reaches all your work plus at least 1 section  and add / remove when required.  Thats gonna be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying 2 -3 poles and a 35 or 40 will not cost so much more than a 25.

My next pole will be an slx 35 which I will break down into 3 parts an 18 with add ons to 27 then add ons to 35

Cancel that .... I will actually have an slx 27 with #7 and #8 extensions then break down to a 4 section with 2 add ons with 2 sections in each , the full height I need with a nice collapsed length

If it's for staff, I wouldn't make it confusing for them, they'll probably break within first six months - year.
Stick to the 25  or go cheaper with the clx range, depending on your staff

Breaking down poles doesn’t do them any good, unless you’re really careful.
