What  radious from home do you travel to your work at the moment I  travel about a  2 mile radious  due to the work being  in small blocks of work 'I'm thinking of  going a bit further a way  and do a bit more canvassing.

5 miles for most work.....I have over 300 jobs in a 2 mile affluent area, some commercial up to 10 miles away but nothing further afield...

I do around 3000 miles a year in my van...👍

I may have quite a rare collection of work, part of our work something like 600 properties in half a mile of my home.

That has been built over a good few years but works well for us.

If I had a long enough hose and powerful enough pump I wouldn't have to take the van  :)

Furthest I go is 15 miles but it has to be worth while to go just like most I suppose.

Closest 2 miles. Farthest 12 miles.
Bulk of work 3 - 10 miles.
Van 7 years old from new on 41k.

I usually get my customers to fetch there houses round to mine on a morning, if they want em doing quickly, I lend em the tools and give them a 5 percent discount before letting em go, the others have to wait until I lumber from my pit around 10:00,  I then let em collect there homes before 5:00(telling them to be truely grateful!!), before retiring with a few cans and Netflix waiting for tomorrows dream to start.

You're making it difficult for yourself. Get your customers to take their windows out, bring them round to you. More room on your drive than a dozen three bed semi's waiting for collection.

Said to him I might give that a try.

His response "Go for it , it's great"

I used to travel all over building a round now I reckon I don’t travel any further than 4-5 miles a day, very lucky to live in the nice side of Stockport and certainly an area so many other window cleaners travel into, I know most of the local lads and we all find it crazy how guys are travelling from other side of Manchester like Oldham or down as far as Crewe stoke or Sheffield way, they must have really poor prices or heavily worked areas near them to travel that far I presume.
I’ve found living in the area you just get more work because your a local, Ive picked up so much work just because people have said they’ve seen my van constantly in the area or I’m known around and they end up dumping the guys who aren’t local!
