Any one else found that the marketing for carpet cleaning just does not live up to the promises of £30.000 to £60.000 per year. I have sent out 30.000 flyers
with only one reply, adds in yellow pages/thompsons 3 local papers per week
the church mag etc, some weeks i dont get a call at all. We get a great response from the work we have done. Is it me or American bullxxxx.

depends on your flyers, who posts them, how much you pay for them, and yes £30,000-£60,000 is realistic if you have the patients, sending out 30,000 leaflets ain't going to get you this type of money, i would be wise to checkout who is posting your leaflets, if i only got 1 call for every 30,000 leaflets i sent out i would be very worried ??? forget yellow pages(rip off) try looking on the internet in your area for thebestof.co.uk £220.00 per year, responce is brilliant plus it puts you at the top on the first page of google,  hope this helps

It can be very soul destroying when marketing does not work.

The problem is it is not an exact.

Some times it works some times is does not.

The problem with leaflets is it requires a lot of work and the odds per leaflet are not good.

You would not bet on a leaflet in horse race.

But if you average sale is £100 a thousand leaflets over a period of time could bring in £300 plus  on top of that you will have referals

so you could generate £450 to £600 from  a thousand leaflets which cost £60 to distribute.

Did you have thirty thousand put out in one go?

Has any body tried the Phone book for advertising (classified section) and what sort of response have you had out of your own area's or do you find it better to use an 0800 number out of your own area.

Hi Guys,

I have removed the link , if anyone wants it they can go to ebay.

Incidentally the product is 'Gauranteed' , which is a bit sad when the seller can't even spell.

Cheers

Doug

Back to the topic, either your leaflets are $hit (and i doubt that because they would have to be really bad to get that response) or they didnt get delivered (wich is more likely)

whoever you paid to deliver them knocked you.

Deliver 5000 yourself and record the response
you then know what to expect if your paying someone to deliver them, and if they dont get the same response sack them and try someone else.

Also experiment with different leaflets, this does make a difference
I have know got my response rate to, for every 5000 delivered i get around 15 decent jobs straight away (within a week)
and then a few more trickle through over the next couple weeks
so i end up with around 20 jobs at £100 each thats £2000 from every 5000 leaflets

ps. it has taken me the best part of a year and a lot of different designs, racking my brains for new ideas and a lot of walking the streets testing designs to achieve this

but iv got it down to a fine art now ;) with £1100 worth of work booked in next week

red carpet

that is a very good reponse rate per 5000 wow, any chance on letting me know what you put on them to get that kind of custom, would not copy yours as i see you have put a lot of time and effort into them but a few good tips from you would be great
