Gocardless
« on: December 06, 2018, 02:00:51 pm »
Sorry 😐

I have search back posts 🤔

Guess I’m just a dunce 🤭

Question: I’m happy with how my customers 💰 pay
Cash
Cheque
Online

Just a couple of late payers🤯

Can you just have a handful of customers on gocardless

Or not?

Thanks
Ps. I don’t want to convert the 98% of customers that pay promptly

Just 2% I’ve had for years that feel awkward dumping 😀

Plus new customers would be gocardless especially the young uns

You could have just one if you want.

As above!

But its worth having. Ive just picked up a new customer today on a street where ive been for some yrs working. The reason why this customer came to me, apart from quality, was because she was never in and wanted to pay online /automatic and her previous window cleaner didnt offer that as an option. He did a good job but it wasnt that whichblet him down

Great

So how do I setup 🤔

Has anyone got a link to a video?

I’ve watched the gocardless video on YouTube

Basically explains it’s a direct debit

But as I understand it you request payment after you’ve cleaned

Unlike a monthly direct debit that  comes out every month
Wether you’ve cleaned or NOT 😬

Which is why I don’t like standing orders or direct debits as you have to be on time 🤯

Difficult at Xmas hols followed by snow.

So does customer give you their card details?

Sorry I’m just not getting the setting up process

Also wondering how you sell the benefits to the customer of this service

Without them thinking it’s a scam to get their card details 🤭

Apologies again for being a doughnut 🍩

Thanks lee

Go to gocardless.co.uk (or .com) and register. Once you have done so, you will get a link which you give to your customers (text or email etc) or even to use on your website. This link takes them to a direct debit mandate to fill in with their bank details (below is mine).
Then basically once youve cleaned the property you process a payment either directly from your gocardless dashboard or via squeegee app etc.
It takes 3 working days for that to be processed with their bank and a further 2 working days with gocardless before you get paid.  Within the 3 days the customer get an email telling them when it will be debited and whatever message you attach. For instance I put,  "windows cleaned during the week starting mon X"

Its that simple.

Be nice if you could, but they have to leave an email address on the form as well, which you get to see (obviously we dont ser their bank details however). Therefore you could always notify all your GoCardless customers via email that come december there will be a 10% service charge applied.    Its up to them to check their emails 😂😂  lol
