Slimey sofa
« on: December 05, 2018, 02:03:49 pm »
Hi just finished a job cleaning a sofa cotton polyester mix. During the clean the upholstery tool seemed to be pushing the water around rather than sucking much back up.

I have left dri pods on the sofa for nearly 2 hours, and have towel dried also and when I towel dried I noticed almost a greyish slime residue coming off really strange and it still feels sopping wet.

Any ideas? :-(

Have you got a blockage in your extraction hose?

Did it have a slightly dull shine to it when it  when you first saw it, prior to cleaning?

I have seen this a few times. I think its a residue that comes off when cleaning. I thought it was fabric protector the last time I had it. All the ones I have done have dried ok and no complaints so I assume it dries back into the fabric, but scary at the time.
