Northern Ireland hose pipe ban

Iv read Northern Ireland is set to introduce a hose pipe ban this weekend- does this effect us wfpolers?

I'm sure the last time the UK had a hosepipe ban (or parts of it; I can't remember), the rule was that you couldn't clean windows using a hosepipe connected to the mains water system.

That’s the key I think for me Banzai.

Hosepipes connected to the mains.

Mine’s a static system plumbed in. Maybe if you have a van mount connected to an outside tap via a hosepipe you could be affected.

This comes up every year. It’ll be peeing it down within a week or two 8)

In the past it does not effect commercial businesses. I remember a news article to say you can't wash your car from the mains but you can take it to a commercial car wash

2012.... introduced hosepipe bans in April - I think - then it slashed it down for the next three months and ended up being the 2nd wettest year on record.

My 2nd year in the job  and still trad by then.

In just over 10 years of wfp I have never a had an issue with any bans which seem to happen every couple of years.  It never affects commercial use even if you fill from home.

the only time it could effect us is if there was a  DROUGHT ORDER and even then id flout it....... ;) ;D

hosepipe bans do not include water used for commercial purposes such as window cleaning etc......

its only a  drought that affects us not a hose pipe ban if it comes to the crunch ill trad for a few months till the rain comes and if its any thing like just after xmass  then we should not have a drought  this year  ::)roll

Every year we get a panicky topic about this.

Hose pipe bans DO NOT AFFECT COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY such as window cleaning.

Only drought orders can interfere with commercial use, and even the it has to be stage 3 (the worst stage)

If we get to a stage 3 drought order, there’ll be queues for water at standpipes in the street. Even if you could use WFP in that instance, I’m not sure I would. You would risk enraging the local populace (including customers).
