My bad, I thought the limited had colour coded bumpers.
They do in the custom, assumed the connect would be the same.

Looks tidy.

One question, with the investment in a hot Grippa system, why didn't you get the floor speedlined by them?!

It’s just as well it’s not a colour coded rear bumper, it would be scratched to bits with the rectus fitting going by this pic

That was the old van, but sometimes we wanted to use the van to go away at a weekend to fell races (always out in the mountains), and Wor Lass felt embarrassed because of the sign writing.  ;D

So we're not getting this one sign written.

I’ve had this system since last September mate. Started looking at the hydro heat later. The  plan is still to get the hydro heat add on before next winter.

Yeah, the heater is amazing. 9kw jobby.
The reel is getting a bit looser now. Just need to tweak the sensitivity. It knocks off to easily when it meets resistance, but that red pipe is quite heavy, plus,I use a cloth when reeling in and the hose is quite grippy.
Oliver will sort it.

dazmond nice setup. I was wondering how you were getting on with the ford, I've got a vivaro which I find is a little wide for a lot of access areas I have to go to, I could really benefit from something narrower, that said it would need to have at least a 1,000 kg payload cos I have a 650 tank plus diesel heater etc. How do you find the van, I'm looking a these and the fiat doblo xl? Fiat vans are cheaper but still have good reputation as long as your on top of oil changes and servicing etc.

I have a fiat doblo lwb(technico version) got it new in Feb, great little vans and very happy with it. It may not have all the bells and whistles as a ford connect but has all the basics you need (air con, reversing sensors, good pulling power, quite and comfortable to drive  etc) I got the van fitted with 500lt grippamax tank and frame, pole holders a drip tray and hose reel stand, protectakoted and few extras like side airbags, body coloured bumpers, seat covers and mats and it still came just under price wise as buying a connect limited alone.

hi mate.I personally wouldnt go for the connect if i had a 650L tank (plus  diesel heater) as i reckon id be overweight first thing in the morning with a full tank.my connect only has a 936kg payload which is ok for my 500L tank  and heater...anything larger then you need a bigger payload van IMO...

I love my connect though....its the perfect size for my needs pal.... 8)...its the L2 240 model.i dont think they do a higher payload one than this....

I have a 400 litre tank in my connect L2 Llimited,That's more than enough.,don't be fooled by the space on the back as it looks more from the outside, the bulkhead is almost half way the length of the van. ;D ;D
Good vans though but we find the Fiat Scudo more practical with two side loading doors and has more room, not too big or too small, just right for window cleaning.

theres plenty of room though.....

my 500L tank is fitted length ways inside a PURE FREEDOM frame so i have room down the sides and it evenly distributes the weight better so im not overloading either axles....

yes the bulkhead encroaches on the space a little but i still find i can store something in the "gap" at the base of the bulkhead(fold away step up).

i would have loved 2 sliding doors but i only have my 2 leisure batteries and a a little fold away trolley down the non door side......

I have a partner 850 payload. Perfect for me with 500 tank and extra Gubbings however in hindsight i preferred the fiat scudo I had previously which was 1000kg. More spacious in the back and carried the load better.

My next van will be another scudo or dispatch but if it's for 2 man go with the 1200 version.

They are just about the right size imo, not too big you struggle to park but not too small in the back that everything is a bit of a squeeze.

You can get the doblo and combo etc with 1000kg payload but it's still going tonne close fully laden with 2 men and not much room to swing a cat in the back.

New starters use that much, but on day to day work on a 6 hour day 500 litres suffices. I guess that's around 20 houses.

About £19k with the VAT. The last one I bought had 0% finance but unfortunately that deals gone.  Lovely van though, drives beautifully and very quick. Feels like a car tbh.
