Gardiners poor customer service!!

Ordered my parts from Gardiners yesterday afternoon and was categorically told that there was no way I'd get delivery today because I'd missed the last post and I'm best part of 700 miles away.

Low and behold, it arrived this morning! What a liberty!

Also, the free pen is crap.

I ordered some rollers ( not for my hair  :P) and a brush.
They still issue a dispatch email.

Could you log in to your account with us and check the accuracy of email address you have registered with the account - technically as long the correct email is registered a dispatch email should be sent out by the system when the dispatch team mark the system as order sent.

However if there is an issue with the email address this may not happen.

I never got a despatch email either so when there was no delivery when I got back today I sent an email. There's a problem logging in from my mobile with the gmail details but it's fine with the laptop. I'm guessing some systems don't recognise the gmail address somehow.

just logged in alex and my email is the same as its always been.ive not had a confirmation or dispatch email(only the paypal email).this has happened the last few times ive ordered stuff.no problem with delivery or anything just no emails.

Was it a FedEx delivery?

I reckon our FedEx driver should be nominated for an award for excellent service. He's called Neil.
He texts me if I'm out and he's left parcel somewhere around the house. If he sees me on the road, he stops and gives parcel to me.
We live up some country lanes and parcel delivery can be a fuss to many drivers. Usually the ones who can't be bothered. Parcelforce, UPS usually spout off some lame excuse for non-delivery!!
Not FedEx Neil.  Top notch driver.

Yes it was fedx, he must have ran out of slips.  I try to avoid anything being sent by parcel force, guy was a wee pr#ck. I've got a case of beer in the wife's car for the hermes driver I drank the last one!

the fedex drivers are always good guys......one guy who used to deliver to me always joked "when i grow up i want to be a window cleaner just like you!" ;D ;D(part time hours)

Thanks for checking Dazmond.  I've checked through your account and the system shows you have been notified each time an order has been dispatched.  The last notification would have been on 9th Jan at 8.49am - could you check your spam/junk folder? You may need to log into your email account and check the spam settings that they are applying to your account. 

Did you get an email from FedEx as this should happen as standard if the order is going by courier?  If you didn't, could you also check your junk mail for this?

Thanks for your help with this Alan.  Checking your account, you have only been notified the first time you ordered with us but not since.  I have done some investigation and it appears to be human error and a new procedure is being implemented as we speak to ensure an email is sent each time to every client.

Can I ask if you received an email from FedEx regarding this latest order?

Same here , Iv never ordered anything from a laptop / desktop- it’s all done on my phone, so I can’t understand how it’s something Iv done  ???

This issue is slightly puzzling.

Apart from the few occasions where the automated email has not been sent due to staff error, having  worked through with a  few of you yesterday it would appear that it is only the automated emails that are not being allowed through to your email inbox.

Our automated email system is working correctly and is sending out to the majority of clients. In testing yesterday we sent out a personalized email from sales@gardinerpolesystems.co.uk to a couple of clients and it worked and came through and yet using the same sending email sales@gardinerpolesystems.co.uk the automated versions did not arrive, although we can see on the system that they were all sent.

In conclusion it would appear that certain browser based email domains (live, hotmail, gmail, etc.) are for some reason not allowing through automated order emails to a few clients.

What is the solution? Not sure - some of these emails accounts do have the ability to add a set email address to a safe sender list (or white list)  so perhaps going into settings and adding sales@gardinerpolesystems.co.uk to a safe sender setting may cure this - cannot guarantee this though.

I ordered a pole section and pole hose on Friday morning. I haven’t had an email from gardiners or fed ex . I was hoping for delivery on Saturday ( maybe pushing it abit ) . But wil it be delivered on Monday ?

Don't think so.

Most of the others are self employed and probably need to work Sundays to cover their franchise payments. I think fedex have traditional employees.

Hi Steven, I've signed in to your account and your order was indeed completed the same day and sent out via Fedex (Shipment #100055358
FEDEX UK:    07233302543).  A confirmation email was sent but I notice you have a live.co.uk email address registered with us and I suspect it is in your junk or rejected mail folder.  We have noticed that a few clients with live, gmail, hotmail accounts do not receive our automated emails.  If you can add our sales@gardinerpolesystems.co.uk address to a white list or approved senders this should solve the issue (the same will probably apply for FedEx's automated emails).

FedEx do deliver on a Saturday when a client upgrades to a Saturday Courier Delivery (much more expensive).  They do not deliver on a Sunday.

As it stands, your order should be delivered to you on Monday (next working day) but you can track this with the above tracking number.  There have been courier delivery delays because of the severe weather so worth keeping in mind.
