Weather report says -2 this morning. Van is saying -5. Apparently it will get to 1 degree by 11am lol

Just on way to first job so will see what it like, defrosted everything first thing.

Much rather have weather like this than rain and wind, cold doesn't really bother me as long as I can stop system freezing . We shall see, heavy frost everywhere so I think  best to keep the water flowing .

It's pretty bad, lots of windows freezing up.

Just watched an entire house freeze over lol. Luckily customer found it amusing and told him I'll call back if it dries bad.

Still -1 here. Going to try a few more, had most of last week off needed to crack on really.

This is the inside of my vans roof at 11am, my 500w heater isn't even making a dent in thawing it out, time to call it a day.

My frost system kicked in over night a few times and worked a treat with my grippa hot water system.


First time trying it out replacing my electric fan heater.

Only snag was though that as I left the house the neighbour was leaving too.  He shouted over to me asking " did you hear any weird noises last night? We kept hearing something like a vacuum cleaner outside"

I grinned and smiled replying "no, did not notice anything"

That was at 9-10am . Once it got to 11 I was frost free..think it got up to about 3 degrees this afternoon. Weathers fine now

Managed out from 10:30 until 3:30pm. Had to start on single glazed houses. The double glazing just froze. Had not a bad day after all that.

First time using an oil heater in the van last night and couldn't sleep for the thought it would catch fire! Out at 8am and the roof inside was pretty much like the above pic with a little thawed out patch above the heater. Hose reel still frozen and garden hose at the rear of the van frozen so heater isn't big enough.

yep mine too.it has quite a few times over the xmas period.its brilliant isnt it?saves faffing about remembering to put a  heater in the back.i do top up the batteries every night now with my new numax 20amp charger so the batteries dont get too low.

to be fair though the batteries are usually reading no less than 12.5 at the end of my working day.

I prefer the fan heaters.  Place them as low a poss.  The blower helps circulate the heat better.   I was always worried about oil filled as they need  plenty of clear air space  all around them to be safe.

Nice.  I do wonder how many times it kicks in and how long it takes for the radiating heat to drop down again.   I think mine kicked in at 10pm and then again at 3.30am and again at 6am. Only ran for 10 mins max.  Sounded like it was on half mode too ( might have slept through other tries though) Just keen to work out most cost effective and failsafe  method.

As I already have a cable connected to charge so having a second one for a heater does not concern me.

Just worries me about the noise during dead of night.  My wife was telling me off too.
