Personalised number plate on your van?
« on: December 01, 2017, 06:58:27 pm »
I've been looking at putting a personalised number on my van which reflects either the type of business that I do or my actual business name! After seeing lots of similar vans on the road I just wondered how many on here have them?

I have. But I have had my plate for ages.  It reflects my initials and my business initials for the last part.

I used the first 2 digits of the plate to reflect my late father's name as it was a last gift from him whilst he was battling cancer

I prefer anonymity!

I don't even bother putting the magnetic signs on my van these days since I'm not really looking for new work.

Sometimes though, its not about advertising but more about business image

Got one on the wife's car. Not either of our initials though. Just got it by chance about 20 years ago so kept it.

It's a game of three halves!

You've just cost me £250!
My rounds full and I no longer advertise so I'm hoping to set it off as advertising.

Looks unnecessarily flash to me. Same as alloy wheels on a works van.

I just like a nice sign written, clean, smart & preferably newish van.

Just my personal opinion. Go on slate me...

Personalised number plates are like tattoos.

They're a way of saying you're stupid without opening your mouth.

The wife, the car or the number plate?

100%  correct. Im sure when I was a kid, only those who had been in the armed forces had tattoos? Now, more people have tatts than dont...and most look like poop.

Anyway, on topic. Personal number plates look stupid on a decent Car, let alone a window cleaning wagon. ::)roll

Tattoos and beards are no longer evidence that you're hard either.

The hipster ginks.

I bet slacky has tats. And a personalised plate on his van.

He seems the “sort”.

I've a mate, a recovered alkie (about 30+ years sober) who has ALK1E as his number plate.  He bought it some years ago, but apparently it's worth a fortune now.

It's in line with his sense of humour.
