There is a round order button in the settings menu. All new customers are auto put at the bottom to allow you to move them into proximity order.

I know that, but when you've got 450+ jobs it would help if you could drag and drop in diary view rather than sifting through them all in 'round order.'
We look at them, they look through them.

Hi

It sounds simple but it isn't...

Drag & Drop in diary view already does something - amending the job Due Date. I don't think making it do 2 things would be very helpful.

You can already amend the job order from the Quick Update list - and that causes lots of confusion !!

I disagree, say I want to do a job on a Tuesday instead of a Monday? Great, I can drag it over to Tuesday but it will end up in the order I inputted it on the software. I would like to be able to drag that same job into the order that I want to do it on that day. It's not confusing is it??? Would this be so hard to do? This is the only thing that lets George down IMO.

Like others have said, our rounds are built on shifting sand and constantly changing. Having to put jobs in order in 'round order' is too time consuming and a ball ache especially when you have a lot of jobs on the system.

Like I said, I'd pay more for this service.

To put jobs in order on George, I right click and add to list. Then I drag them into order, or is this not what you are talking about?

Hi

You need to understand what the Round Order actually does. The idea is that you order your round so that if you did every single job in one go it would be the most efficient order. Example:

Order   Address
1)   1 High St
2)   2 High St
3)    1 Main Rd
4)    2 Main Rd

If you have the following schedule:

Monday

1 High St
2 High St

Tuesday

1 Main Rd
2 Main Rd

And you decide to drag the Monday 1 High St to last thing on Tuesday it works fine and when you do the Job it will slot back into the right order.

If the system actually changed the round order your list would now be

1)   2 High St
2)    1 Main Rd
3)    2 Main Rd
4)    1 High St

so when the 2 High St jobs were on the same day, they would be in the wrong order !!

I think that would be confusing...

Sorry Paul but I can't make sense of that. That doesn't work right for me.

People want to be able to edit that worklist for that particular day without changing the permanent round order & without using the bulk update. You can do this in Aworka. You can also drag & drop further than the current week in Aworka which I don't think you can do on George. Also on Aworka, when you drag a job to a new date, it doesn't change the due date, it just moves the job to the date you are now planning to clean it on. It is then overdue.

For example if I dragged a job forward by 7 days on Aworka it would tell me on the planner I am 7 days late even though it has now planned the job for a 7 days later.

I find it very hard to explain. You would need to use the software in the real world. It would be especially useful for those of us that are not so rigid in our days. Some of us brake off for rain etc & I always found this a problem with George.

Maybe an idea for the next update.

if you have overdue customers from previous days the customer should be auto moved to an overdue column in a different background colour.

I.e. today it Tuesday.  On the diary the first day that shows up is Tuesday.  Maybe a column in front of Tuesday to show overdue customers and to be auto prioritied in overdue time order bypassing the round order code.

I'm happy with Aworka but I have total respect for Paul at George as he was one of, if not the pioneer of round software. I still think there is a place for George. Ideally it could just do with some tweaks.

Those of you who use aworka can you tell me if it is based on line like cleaner planner or is it only within the confines of your PC like George?

Aworka is web based.

Even if you have no signal though if you are out & about the app works fine for most everyday things like marking off jobs or adding new ones. Just sync when you get some signal.

Hi

I'll look at what I can do on the Bulk Update screen. Maybe enable drag and drop when printing a WorkList without updating the underlying Round Order.
