Tds reading of 009
« on: June 22, 2017, 08:55:22 pm »
When tds reads 009 is it too high to clean windows?  I have to change resin every ,5 months to keep it low. Do you think the membrane needs replaced. It's 3 years old.
Cheers
Steve

Waiting for resin coming.  That's why i was asking if the membrane was in need of replacing before i changed it.

You think your membrane needs replacing at 009? What is your input TDS and psi? 009 is a good input TDS to your Di!
We look at them, they look through them.

Yes.

You should be using 000. As soon as it hits 001 that time to change it.

Ahh ok are you one of those guys who clean the windows and then spend ages 'rinsing' the glass with the brush off the glass?

Waste of water. Clean at 000 and you can blast through the work.  Imo

I happily work with water up to about 6-7 never had a problem.
Why do you think that rinsing more makes a difference if your tds is higher?  Theres no need to.

Yes used 009 on Friday including doing my own just to check. No problems.  Thankfully the resin arrived today so that's the first job for Monday morning.

To put it in perspective a TDS of 9, means 9 bits of debris per 1 million bits of water. If all of those 9 bits were unlucky enough to collect together in  one place it will leave a spot.

A 9/1,000,000 size spot.
