Getting fed up of poor driving from other road users. Last week I had a Sainsbury delivery van just stop in front of me and then started to reverse back towards me without looking. (Driver was staring out of his left side window probably looking for door numbers).  I Had to sound horn for a long time.  Lucky he heard me and jammed on the brakes. Lucky escape.

However this week my van was parked on the road side. Came back to it to find the side mirror in peices across the road in front of van.  Causing £380 of damage.  Plus scapes down the side of van ( luckily I've buffed out any scrapes successfully. Clearly another vans side mirror (white).

Guess what? He never stopped.  Its a busy road too with queing trafic on the opposite side approaching a junction. No one stopped or reporded it. Someone must of seen it happen. No cctv on the house working on. Dash cam only works whilst driving.   Frustrating.

Tell you what over the last 5 years the standard of peoples driving has significantly gone downhill.

Also the standard of pedestrians watching where they are going has a lot to be desired.

Just the other day I had a numpty walk right out in front of me with his headphones in. I slammed on my brakes as i would have hit him and he hurls abuse at me!

Told him to watch where he is going as next time i wont bother stoping to protect him. Idiot

Either that or they carry on completely unawares that they nearly caused you a heart attack and ended up all over the road!

Yesterday i went to work in van and slammed breaks on when i went past my wifes car. Smashed, dinted and the side mirrow clearly snapped off and swung into door window and smashed that up as well.

My wive parked half n rd n pavement as its a busy road and we have no front drive.
My neighbour has cctv and spent ages looking through for us and comfirmed what i suspected. That either vehicle didnt give way, forcing one to squeeze past doing all the damage to my wives car.

Makes me wonder as the car was illegally parked (partly on the pavement) if your insurance company will try it on.
Also depending on the value of the car could end up being an insurance write off.

charge more for cleaning the window then buy a house with a drive ?

Or another option pay for a dropped curb and turn your front garden into a drive.
You also now have video evidence why you need a dropped curb.  lol

Not your fault buddy. Other driver is rubbish rude and dishonest.

We all have to use pavement parking at jobs in our industry don't we?

I hope you've got a cctv copy of the full incident that clearly shows the reg numbers/firms names etc of the vehicles involved.
If not done so already report it to the police and get a log number at least. Your insurance company will also want to try claim back any settlement cost too so will be interested to find out who caused the damage to the car.

It's bloody annoying I know but peeps do get things wrong sometimes for whatever the reason and you can't turn the clock back. At the end of the day it's just a lump of metal that can be repaired/replaced.
