Reading our industry’s various internet forums, there are several recurring themes that never seem to go away.  The ever present number one appears to be “I’m not making enough money, I haven’t got enough work” This applies equally the established businesses as well as new start-ups.

There are many too who are uncertain about carpet and upholstery protectors. Both from the technical/application aspect and also how to take advantage of this valuable “add on” profit stream.

Finally, we’ve noticed one or two astute carpet cleaners are now becoming increasingly involved with cleaning tiles and grout.  It isn’t rocket science, but a little knowledge and understanding is required to maximise it’s potential.

With all of this in mind, the NCCA, in partnership with Alltec Network, have arranged a Technical Roadshow in Hertfordshire. It takes place on Tuesday July 18th. And the venue is:

9am – 10.30am – Robert Saunders – How to Make money in Carpet Cleaning
10.30am – 11am – Tea/coffee
11am – 12.30pm – Tim Gale – Communications
12.30pm – 1.30pm – Lunch
1.30pm – 3.00pm – Keith Robertson – Tile and Grout Cleaning
3pm – 3.30pm – Tea/coffee
3.30 – 5pm - Paul Pearce – Carpet Protection treatments.

All bookings must be made through the NCCA Office on 0116 271 9550. Delegate fees are £35 plus V.A.T. except for NCCA Members who have the subsidised fee of £10 plus V.A.T.  Lunch and beverages are included. Places are limited, so early booking is advised.

Yours is a classic case whereby product knowledge, skill, communication and sales technique (could be either a hard or soft sell) have all come together to the advantage of your business.

Unfortunately, there are many CC's who, through no fault of their own, lack the knowledge or skills in one or more of these areas and so stiffle their business potential.  This is one reason why the NCCA in partnership on this occasion with The Alltec Network, are working on these low cost events for the betterment of our industry.  You don't even have to be an NCCA Member to attend

Another good reason to go along on the 18th July is tomeet colleagues both new and old and have a really good chin-wag networking session.

Hi Guys,

To be honest I sold the leather protector one over the phone and the other sort of fell into my lap, with the customer mentioning how much one of the franchises had charged last time  and how the guy only spent 15 minutes with a garden sprayer.

I was therefore able to sell on price and quality so odds were stacked in my favour.

im going to be negitive

i sell protection and find it sells itself, application not hard, however i am as you say ken uncertain about protection not the reasons above though mine are of effectiveness of the product.

i sell it, but i cannot hand on heart say its worth paying alot of money to have on your new carpets.

**not enough money** seems some make alot exploting this fact.

its alltecs selling point with fast track.

i had a follow up letter from alltec said "congratulations i must be one of the wealthest carpet cleaners in the country because i did not attend there seminar"

that was after the "o-porche in 6 months" letter.

these things, im sure im not alone, do not warm me to alltec.
