Gardiners gooseneck valve servicing
« on: April 03, 2017, 09:59:07 pm »
Just been trying to service the gardiners goose neck valve 😢

When I pulled the smaller stem section with o rings apart I noticed the white valve with slots wasn't where it should be on stem, it had come off in top section where green tubing is.

Couldn't get slots of both valves to realigned.

After about 4 goes of putting together and taking apart I lost one of the tiny springs😠

I remember now why I stopped using the aqua tap.

I may give the univalve one more pop, I think this is service free just eventually breaks.

Maybe I'm not cut out for d.i.y. 😁

Not longer after my praise of the gooseneck valve, it broke. Or should i say, when i turned it off it was still trickling water. Before this however, i ordered another one for my phoenix brush. Had to remove the first pole but managed to get it to fit tight on the pole.
So i had 2 of these. On my main pole i think i must have over tightened the lug nuts, as when i took it apart to service it (as per gardners  video) the spring was in the valve the wrong way. I couldnt sort this whilst working and so stuck my old gooseneck on. Its still in van for me to try and get the spring out.
My 2nd one which is on my phoenix pole that i use with my trolley is also squeaking when i turn it on or off and so i reckon thats on its way out as well.
So ive gone back to tap valves along with my holsters. Never had a problem in 2yrs using it like that and these goosenecks have lasted about 3 months. The thing is my brush was slightly heavier and at certain angles would swing down and then turn water flow off. So i had to tighten it to prevent this and then the problem starts. So they are ok with lite brushes only in my opinion

Hi  Nathan.

Funnily enough mine wasn't shutting off water flow last couple of weeks still getting fast trickle flow.

That's why I decided to try and service.

Great while it worked now it doesn't 😢

Hmm, I bought one of these and after about three weeks it started playing up, water not shutting off properly.

I tried servicing it, now I'm pretty good at DIY but these things are quite delicate and are made up of small parts, they shouldn't really require servicing after three weeks.

So anyway, prior to the original model failing I'd already ordered a second one. This has been going for a week, I'm not holding my breath.

This is what i thought when i watched all the vids on it before i purchased the first one, thinking the servicing would be perhaps 6months in or preferably after a year and not several weeks in.

It also puts me off the uni valve and ive gone back to taps. However i need to reorder from purefreedom. The gardiner taps dont last long. I had original one from PF But a friend used the pole and every now n then you need to retighten the tap switch and my friend didnt. It fell off and when i went to pick him up, i ran over the part that came loose and snapped it in two.  Ordered some from gardner but the tap switch has broken twice in as many months.  Brushes, slx poles and many more bits ive purchased from gardner have been great, yet these two items not so much

If you are having any issues with the Gooseneck Valve, please let us know and we can replace for you. Some clients have had issues with them leaking, not shutting off or the white discs becoming un-seated.

If you have had this issue please get back to us as this should not be happening and should not be needing any servicing so soon. We will be happy to replace the units affected for you  :)

you cant beat the univalves IMO.best water valve out there by a mile.both of mine work effortlessly and have done for over a year now.they work with any gooseneck too.(another bonus).
price higher/work harder!
