[SB Cleaning]

Hi all

This is my 2nd season pressure washing and so far I'm enjoying more than the window cleaning that I have been doing for 7 years.....

I started off with a 5 year old battered gx390 which did the job but I recently bought a machine off Ben Meriot at Rutland pumps which I'm really happy with

My question is are flat surface cleaners worth the money?  As im thinking of buying one....I'm only doing residential drives and patios....my machine is a Evolution gx390 15 lpm at 250 bar.

Simple answer is yes, makes lite work of it. But might want to post on general cleaning to ask

No they are useless, only scenario ou could use one if had massive area of flagged are !

Am same as urself bought off Ben, gx390 21 lpm. Bought a lot of ph hose and fsc.

I tend to use the rinse lance most of the time, fsc is ok on car parks big areas etc but u will always have to go over it again with the lance.

With a big pump then they are worth the money, I started with the same machine as you and sold my FSC  as I thought it was crap.... little did I know it was the machine that was too small not the FSC

Now we use it on every job unless there are heavy weeds then we use the turbo lance.

Just out of interest which presssure washing machine are you  now using?

I find FSC's come in handy for most domestic  jobs as cuts down overspray/mess.  They also work even better if the surface is treated with a softwash mix first. That's if custards allows the use of chems. If they do sometimes you can even get away without using a washer at all.

I'm currently using a  small 15 lpm (Dual Pumps) Delta washer no probs and only use a turbo if/when required.   
How a FSC is set up and the size/type tips you use makes all the difference too.

Easy said if your machine isn't suitable for the fsc. I bought a package with machine and fsc etc and the machine wasn't putting out the right flow for the fsc to operate at it's best.
Couple of years later I upgraded to a 21lpm which made a huge difference but it works even better if you pre treat the area before cleaning.

I've just been out to the van and replaced all 4 nackered wheels on an  18" whirlaway for a job tomorrow.
Was like trying to use a dodgy shopping trolley trying to keep it in a straight line. lol

It's a Briggs & Stratton machine driving a 3000psi /  38lt a minute  pump. It's the big flow rate that makes the FSC  work well

I was thinking of building something similar Mike but what with my health not being too great I have to take each day as it comes now.

38l, you fill the tank from a stand pipe or just got good pressure from the garden taps where you work?

In my opinion spinners are a must have tool if you take pressure washing seriously. Custards also like you turning up with the right kit for the job and also appreciate less crap been blown everywhere too.
