Gloves question (not again!:D)
« on: February 26, 2017, 06:10:05 pm »
I buy those orange ones from my local cleaning suppliers, they are £8.00 and last around a month before they start breaking up in the usual places. works out to £96.00 a year if i want dry hands the year round

so spending £25-£35 on a really good one that lasts say 6 months would still be a massive saving does anyone know of any gloves that actually don't break up so fast
I aint looking for crazy warm gloves just something that keeps my hands away from carbon and dry those £8 gloves are good but they just dont last

IME they last around 3 months before they split(usually around the thumb area)if worn every day.their only £6 a pair so around £24 a year.still cheaper than buying gloves every month! ;D
price higher/work harder!

I mostly wear gloves in the summer due to carbon transfer from pole to my hands and so i wear gloves like cycle gloves. Winter it depends on cold wind but now im on hot water and my tubes go through pole, it heats the pole slightly. So when i start to get transfer from this new pole i will wear gloves again.
As for getting wet, that should only be for when its raining, so if you need to wear gloves all year and you said about being dry.....have you got your brush set at the correct angle, as water should not be running down your brush, your pole and to your hands. You may find a slight adjustment by even one click could stop this, if this is the reason for wet hands!?

Tried some of these in my last order. Love them. Cumfy and warm. Cycling type gloves. Don't get wet through anyway

Thanks guys
I liked the look of these maxidry gloves so I ordered a pair only £5.30
I think I'll also pop in to my local screw fix and try those Dave recommend Daz thx but I think I'm done with Showas I can't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure they weren't my cup of tea , must have been a reason why I stopped
Buying them , oh and thanks math I'll look at the brush

Il give these 2 a review
I've for high hopes for the maxidry as they are advertised actually waterproof and £5.30 exciting times 😂

I only tend to wear gloves in the winter (to hot in the spring /summer). I wear nitrile ones which are quite hard wearing. I think they're about £4-5 pr 100prs. From JustGloves, they're dawrrn sawth!  :D
They're called :   Kool Touch blue nitrile powder free.
I can go through about 2-5 pairs a day..........usually!!
Hth

Bodyguard nitrile gloves are the best. They don't rip like the cheap ones do. They were recommended to me by a mechanic last year. Never used more than 2 pairs a day. Over winter I use skytec argons, they are very good. Just too warm for summer use.
