« on: February 12, 2017, 08:18:35 am »
Well after several years of non investment in my website, going ltd has renewed my interest in getting things moving again. Im using concrete5 an open scorce CMS and im really happy with the ease of use.

www.stockclean.co.uk

Im going for a clean easy to read, and display website.

I'll be honest mark.

I really don't like it, yes it's clean but it looks really boring and the logo is terrible.

It just looks so bland.

So over 13 years you have only done 25 properties  per week on average

I can't upload the screenshot from my iPad as it's not the correct format but here's a link

You shouldn't have to do that.

You should have the width of each element, in this case the columns that the text is inserted in, set to a percentage of the page width. Maybe you have it set as a total number of pixels. Check it and see. If you've got four columns change the width value to 25% for each of them.

Good for you, but i'm not trying to enter a competition here. There simply aren't that many small properties where i live, so naturally i'm going to be cleaning less than your average window cleaner as they take longer. The 17000 cleans quote is simply a way of quantifying to new customers that i haven't just started out and i have the experience on my side. You see...where i am;  a lot of new window cleaners have sprung up over the last 2 years due to the demographic of  the customer base, and the high wealth in my area.

Hmm the element doesn't have a way of changing the width value, there simply isn't a value to change. I might have to consider a completely different element.

Ok i have popped that element into the page header, and reduced the quantity displayed until i can figure out how to change the padding.

i might have to raise a service ticket to find out if there are any patches for that.

How is it displaying now? Is it readable at least?

Use Wordpress.

I don’t know who your site is hosted with, but are you building it with their site builder? If this is the case and it doesn’t allow you to stipulate the elements individual width then you should be able to copy and past the html into this page

https://html-online.com/editor/

then insert the values for each column, then re-copy the edited html and paste it back into your websites page builder.
