Just think what with the payment for the van and maybe the grippa system on top you are now going to have to work a day or two a month for 5 years for nothing. I hope you find it all worth it as the novelty of owning a new motor will soon wear off methinks.

That was the only reason i decided against when my van broke down a couple of weeks ago. I got accepted by vanarama and was close to pulling the trigger but in the back of my mind i knew that after a  few months and the novelty had worn off all i really had was a means of transportation just like an older van and was stuck with over 200 quid coming out every month for a very long time.

That said im sure Daz earns a lot more than me so it would make sense depending on individual circumstances.

Pleased for you getting a new van......however I'm sure there would have been a better way of financing it, I obv don't know all your circumstances but I would think that if you have been declaring what you say you earn, you could have got a personal bank loan for about 3% APR. The savings you made on interest payments would have  more than paid for your system. You will have a cooling off period? If I were you I would look into this option. Regardless I am sure you will enjoy your new van.

too right mate. plus the price rises will cover the van rental and VAT so i wont notice it.also no MOTs for 3 years! :D

i reckon ill love it and the novelty will PROBABLY NOT WEAR OFF for me.ive been dreaming of a brand new van with heated seats, air con, full steel bulkhead etc for a very long time.

ill get it sign written and put my private plate on it too. :)

couple that with a professional fitted system in the back and reckon itll make my working days a lot more enjoyable.ill look after the van too. :)

Does the plus vat mean it has to be added to payments if so it seems a lot of money for a small van if you pay the end payment  . I have just purchased a 65 plate long wheel Base vivaro for ten grand plus vat

i wouldnt have a vivaro if i got offered one for free mate.yes the vat is added on every payment and the balloon payment at the end(i could always opt to sell the van instead to pay off the balloon payment)

I own a vivaro now 2006 long wheel Base had it 9 years  never had a major problem with it which is the reason I bought a vivaro again .I fancied the custom but I saw on here a few months ago that even the new ford's still had rust issue which is the reason I didn't bother .at end of day ford's have issues  so do vauxhall s it's just the look of the draw as to weather you end up with a good one or a bad one

Yes you will. Your thinking is simply a way to try to deal with the additional expense you're now cornered into taking on. If you hadn't had to cover the additional expense of purchasing a new vehicle you would still have imposed those price rises and therefore be that much better off. Now you will be denied a price rise even when you've increased your prices. The way to not notice it is to increase the price rises by more than you would've originally put them up by. So instead of a £2.00 rise make it a £4.00 rise.

ok so  maybe i will notice an increase in my outgoings but i wont be going heavy on the price rises.most will be £1 or £2 and a few £5 here and there.i will price higher for new work though(esp add on jobs).the odd job is getting dumped too(spring clean! ;D)

I sold my half decent car to fund my first new van and decided to have a nice van as most of my working life is spent IN the van.

Frozen windscreens and mirrors is just a click of a button and summer time is just a click of a button for air con. Nothing like eating your lunch in a nice cool van.

As for the expense. I wish mine was only £200 a month. But I had no balllon payment.

My complete attitude changed the day I got that new van for the better. It was evidence of how well I have done and now 2 and half years on I am blessed with the business I have.

DAZ I think the novelty will wear off mate in about 9-10 years time. Enjoy the van. Keep up with the positive posts as they do me and others a world of good.

Happy motoring buddy.

Same here.

I have 2 more payments to make on mine. £400 a month. Then its mine.
