Hi Folks,
I wondered if anyone had found any problems with Gardiners Gooseneck valves or is it just me? I bought 3 units in September, 2 were fitted to brushes and one kept spare. Brilliant solution to the control valve issue.
However last week one jammed, so I dismantled it following the video instruction on the website. It turns out that the grooves for the bearings on the internal shaft had become mis-shaped, the upper edge of them being mangled. Causing the bearings to jam.
I replaced it with the new spare valve but within a day that also had jammed, when I dismantled it, I found the same problem.
Gardiners suggested that I dismantle the 3rd one and grease the o-ring, doing so revealed the same problem developing.
I've replaced it now with an in-line tap until I can find a better solution.
I must give Gardiners customer service credit, they have given me a full refund out of goodwill, although they reckon I must have caused the damage by forcing the shaft out with the bearings in place (which never happened).
So has anyone else had similar problems?
