No. George is not cloud based. That's what I like about it and does exactly what is needed.

You can run automatic back ups to your own cloud in case you loose your data.

It is if you can scrape together the £12 annual fee for back up.

You don't need to waste money on the back up system. Just do it yourself with the auto backup option and save them on your own cloud like one drive which is free.  The back up data will be available from any device should you need it.

George is a one off payment. Backing up is easy. I've never used any online backup (£12 or not) I back up to a usb stick.
Never had any problems!
Apart from having to use a palm os phone! (or an old pda) which is a little annoying - so I have a smart phone too!

All the rest want to rip you for a monthly fee! Why?

I do work alone though!
Hope this helps

Yes the pda is the only issue. I got rid of my pda and bought a low cost window tablet with a detachable keyboard.  I just take the tablet with me in the van. All very easy.

cleaner planner for me.much better than george IMO.ok yes it costs more but its handy and very convenient to have my work on smartphone plus it saves on paper/ink and time.

another plus is if your laptop/tablet/phone breaks(and they all do eventually)its dead easy to be up and running again on your new device.
price higher/work harder!

Why is a monthly fee a rip off?

Used correctly decent software will cover the cost of itself easily.

George is not decent software.

I only have a few days of my own work at the moment and use george but i think ill go back too backs next tax year as it just takes a while transfering it all, id rather just do it the old way, lot quicker i think, although george is better when tallying up for the month, year etc.
