First of all I would check for any blockages like inline strainer, brush jets etc and for any kinked or collapse hoses including inside the reel itself.  Have you tried running the pump without the hose reel connected. If so what happens then?

Also if you have any hoselock stop type connectors fitted check that they are on fully and not worn/broke. If need be as a test swap them over with normal hoselock type connectors and see what happens then.

Could just be an electrical connector, try renewing them but clean the wires up first or trim them fresh. Clean the battery terminals with a bit of wire wool.

By any chance do you have strainer with one way valve fitted in your trolley?  if so it could be sticky valve.

I will pop pic up tomora I have 2 pumps in the van which I have take pressure switch off one and put it on other one. Was showing a friend last week hence old pumps in the van.

If the pump is trying to pump an all is well from pump to rectus fitting it may be the connector gone.

I have had pumps that pump are fine wen u at ground level but once the pole goes up the pressure has dropped that's why I have changed them in the past

When you put your finger over the end of the intake hose, can you feel the suction? The reason I ask is that
the only time my pump ever makes the sound I think you're describing is when the intake side is blocked

recheck all connetions from controller to pump.,  one of my controllers was playing up the other day,  green light flashing , then just going off,   rechecked all wire connections,  double checked fuse,     came straight on,       may be ontroller,  have you a spare to try.

Bit confused as to what you mean?
The 2 wires are attached to the pump, they are just connected to the pressure switch by spade connectors.
Have yo got the Maplin micro switch and the new correct size spade connectors ready to go?

The spades on the Maplin switch are a different size from the original shurflo.
I snipped the original plastic connectors off of the wires and crimped on the correct size spade connectors.
When you are in Maplin's buying the new switch make sure you buy some spade connectors to fit if you don't have an assortment already.

There will be 3 spades on the Maplins microswitch.
Just ignore the middle one and connect the 2 wires to the top and bottom spades.
I marked the bottom wire with some tape before removing the old pressure switch and then connected to the new one in the same order.

Had some time to potter so took apart my spare Sureflo. Not done this before but it is straightforward. Word of advise: Do this over a decent surface where you cannot lose small parts.

When you have removed the three screws that holds the PS on you will have this

Gently prise the two parts apart and separate taking care not to lose the small parts

Carefully remove the micro switch

When reassembled it goes back into the pump body like this

I found this part easiest to assemble as follows

Then screw the assembled PS back onto the pump body taking care to line up the two small lugs

Hope this helps  :)
