x customers face, priceless
« on: November 30, 2016, 01:45:38 pm »
Had a job a while ago, priced agreed and conditions told. Ie, i txt night n morning b4 coming for gate to be unlocked, if not its 75% charge. All agreed n happy.
Untill it happens!! They spent 5 mins argueing with me about it and said previous cleaner on same system was cheaper etc etc (all heard it b4). I stay calm and simply reconfirmed the agreement and they agreed price and if other chap was cheaper, shy did they get rid of him.
So they pay up. Mnth later they ask me to skip that clean. Well thats 2 strikes and off the bks they go  ;D
Today, several mnths later she comes out n ask if i can do windows. I politely remind her what happened and explained i have people waiting to go on my books on a regular basis and so she was replaced.
The look on her face as she  mumbled off "if ur not interested I'll get someone else" as if i cared, not been doing hse for past 6mnths.
;D ;D priceless moments. Needed that yesterday

What were you saying about your reputation? How very rude I bet she was thinking  ;D
I would have said something like "no problem luv that will be xxx amount for a one-off clean." Then see the look on her face. If she agreed on the price you could have done it there and then or said something like "I can fit you in on March 2017" :D

I'm sure its happened to all of us. Its your business and decision how you choose to deal with it. What I cant understand is why people feel the need to come on here feeling all smug with themselves to tell everyone.  ???
in much the same way as  others feel the need to give us a running total of their Xmas tips right down to the last pound   :-X

Our wives are sick of hearing about it   ;D ;D

So we share with fellow shiners who understand our joys and pains and hopefully have witty banter

I enjoy reading the stories of fellow window cleaners experiences with some of their customers because they are amusing and also to find comfort in the fact that's it's not just me who has them  ;D

Why don't you just jump the gate you lazy git ;D

I always say to custys when I take them on if it's ok to hop the gate if they forget to leave it unlocked  99% of the time they are fine with it.

15yrs of ladders and being overconfident once, slid down ladders and landed abit to firm and jard my back. Sadly once youve done you back, theres not much to turn time back. So every now n then it flares up, so i cant be arsed to faff with gates anymore, esp now not using ladders to split etc.

Or simply, too lazy  ;D  ;D but a giod excuse as well haha

Get a Little Giant or multi position ladder, no need to touch the gate or damage the knees.

I thought about getting a multi purpose ladder for gates after someone mentioned it on here but ended up just dropping the problem ones instead.
http://www.laddersandscaffoldtowers.co.uk/acatalog/Multi-Purpose-Ladders.html
£115.00 for one that would just make it on most gates.

I just don't do the backs if I can't access them.
And reduce the price accordingly, why make an issue out of it.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Haha yes I love that line too. A "waiting list" lol.

Maybe in some really rural areas where there is only one cleaner for miles I suppose it's possible to be more demand than supply. But still a waiting list lol

Same. I will climb over if I can with step ladders if I don't want to then I won't and just let them know I've done front only and why
