Heatrod Elements and it's a fourteen incher.Takes about two weeks for them to make one and deliver about £57 I think. I bought two so I always have a spare. Bit pricey I suppose but cheaper than a gas boiler.I haven't got my tank above 30 degrees yet so if you want more heat than that you might want 3kw or more but then you'll need to change your wiring on the supply.
It's my prediction that Dave will swap out for a full blown 3kW element with 16amp rig so my advice to onlookers is- prepare for the real deal to begin with.

Yes, turned the dial up. It's a lot of water mind for 2kw - 650L I measure the top of the tank as heat rises I would have thought it most likely to be the hottest place. I have the element right down the bottom of the tank as low as I could get it. I'm happy with 30 degrees as I don't trust really hot water in winter.
