Just seeing if any of you can provide a answer to my problem

Right i have a Extracta Excell machine, it came with a 100psi pump
the pump broke recently so i took it to Woodbridge to get repaired
they fitted a 135psi shurflow for me and to start with no problems

first of it started reading 130-135psi on my pressure guage but after a few days settled to betweeen 110-120psi wich according to them is normal, i find that strange as my 100psi used to stay at 100psi and i saw a 400psi machine the other day and that read 400psi on the guage.

Anyway thats not really the major problem its when i pull the trigger, normally now when pulled the guage will drop to 80psi wich is still ok for me it does the job, but every now and then it will drop to anywhere from 20-40psi wich is doing nothing more than tickle the carpet.

I took it back to Woodbridge thinking there was something wrong with the pump and they say there is nothing wrong and showed me the machine working fine when i asked what they done they said they just run some acid through as there must have been a blockage in my solution line.

2 days later and it started again, it now seems to do it at least once a day it will work fine for hours and then just stop, i have noticed though that it seems to allways go wrong if i let my solution tank run dry, (so mayby air in the system?) the thing is it never done this with the old pump.

Any ideas

Also how can i clean the system of any blockages or air before i take it back to them again?

These are the same pumps that are fitted in the Alltec and they are for want of a better word rubish. I have gone through 3 pumps and 3 pump heads in 3 yrs
the latest having been delivered today. That means ofcourse that it has to be fitted, great if you live near Royston as Alltec will do it, not so good if you are at the other end of the country. As i have sead before on this forum that is one
reason wye i will not be buying annother Alltec machine, and i would not advise
anyone thinking of  getting a new machine to pick the Alltec. Dont get me wrong customer service is good and Chris Thomas is always helpfull, but you can do without the haslle and stress involved. Its about time Robert Saunders
started thinking more about his core business, and not Fast Track Marketing.

Do you have hard water in Essex? You might need a descaler such as Phos or white vinegar.
My Ninja is having it done out in the garage right now as the flow was a bit down today and I've noticed the better flow already.

ps I've had the same 135psi induction motor pump for 5 years, no new heads nothing just a descale when the flow slows.

I have got 3 Alltec machines which i have had for 6 years, never had any major problems, general wear & tear accepted, only replaced pumps on 2 of the machines once. All of the machines are serviced every 250hrs, this includes changing the brushes on the pump.

i think these pumps are good for 3-4 years (shurflow & flojet 135psi) if brushes are changed once a year,

but johns right they are rubbish, they dont like the heat, if you look at the spec you may be supprised to learn they should only operate to 60 or so degrees

by now alltec should be sourcing decent pumps, with higher psi.

the compition is leaving them behind, i've always liked alltecs, but next machine will be one with heavy duty pump.

I did ask when having it fitted if it was as reliable as the 100psi as i had heard nothing but bad things about the 135psi alltecs and nothing but good things about the reliability of the 100psi extracta ones. I was told it was exactly the same.


With the descaler or white vineger, i take it i just add to solution tank and run through hosses tools ect. Is this not the same thing woodbridge have allready done with the acid rinse, only for the problem to come back 2 days later?

I have heard of a number of Altec users complaing about the pumps on the Advantage, it must be so fustrating as I have yet to find anyone who has had the problem solved.

I used to have an Extracta Exel and the pumps on them would last for ages.

Problem now solved (i hope)

After searching back through some old posts on here its seems im not the only one to have had this problem, i think it was down to a air lock were i had let the solution tank run dry.

Easily solved by conecting end of sulotion line to a open connector, and letting run for a few minutes to bleed it through.
Have also used kettle descaler in machine, and run this through all hoses and tools.

Another thing i saw when reading old posts was, that alltec master contains a water softener so should be more of a help than a hinderance to any buildup.

Another thing i noticed while investigating the problem was, i have a small round filter thing in my machine, this was just lose in the bottom of the solution tank when i got the machine and i always wondered what good it was doing but just left it there.

After feeling around in the bottom of the solution tank i have found the little pipe that sucks the water into the pump (its out of site in the extracta) should the filter be covering this?

Its the right size to fit over but wont connect on in any way im thinking mayby its came loose on delivery to me

Red put a few chems through my t/m all caused me an headache, blocking up chem meter and no cleaning power ! found some fuses for extracta if you email me your address I'll pop them in the post

P.S the filter pushes on gently i use to take it off and descale it regulary
