my 5 year plan has expired and im coasting now! ;D

business as usual for me.keep providing a regular, reliable service and refining work as i go.

i run my business with ruthless efficiency and i like it that way.its a good feeling.

i wont allow work to encroach on leisure/family time though.6 weeks off throughout the year and most weekends are not working days for me.
price higher/work harder!

You run a business ? I thought you where a sole operator/trader ? Could you give any examples of your ruthlessness and efficiency?

Hit a nerve with some other people who run businesses so far besides Daz, we've got Chum Bucket (sole operator) and Quarter Light (sole Operator) who 's been asking advice on is it worth it employing. All good stuff, i'm not knocking it, i wanna know the same stuff. But i'll look on Quarter lights thread about is it worth having an employee for that advice. So , Guys, how do you run a business when you're not there, or is the answer......you don't. It stops, end of..............
Its just that the guys i know who run businesses, well there's run, even when they're not there ?

Lost £3000? Oh dear me, some people's glass is always half empty.

Listen, it could've been a right royal shafting, take this guy for example...

Between me and you i';ve been about 30k down a year, and have been for the last 7 years.

Anyway, the reality is - I've saved £3000 in wasted wages.

My profits are up 26% in the last four months compared to the same period last year, whilst working fewer hours - about 10 fewer per week.

I'm also looking to sell 3K of work for a healthy lump sum.

Sorry, did you say something   :D ;D ;D

Well said, the best bit for some is about choosing the work environment rather than letting an employer do it for them.  I used to work for some awful companies (not window cleaning) who would want to buy my soul for a pittance.

Good post.theres too many leeches in our society esp in my area.whole generations of folk that have never worked and don't ever intend to.

Ruthless efficiency is just a term I use for being very organised, not wasting time while working and not suffering fools gladly! ;D
