« on: December 09, 2015, 05:23:39 pm »
Looking into different van options, does anyone have a brand new Vivaro and is it any good? What payloads can you get?

Thanks

That's what I'm thinking of getting. Brand new I think is the way to go. I originally thought about the Transit Custom but haven't heard great things about them.

Is yours SWB or LWB. Do you have any pics?

Thanks

So all that stuff about fixing the gearbox problems around 2006/7 was rubbish.  I did wonder.
I had the Renault Trafic version until recently - 2003.  Too many issues for my liking.  Ended up selling it to a salvage company after 127,000 miles - nowhere near enough miles for a diesel.  A money pit.  Plenty of leg room and lovely to drive.  I would rather have one that sounds like a tractor but works though.
Oh yeah.  Gearbox was replaced at 39,000 miles - just inside warranty by a few weeks.

nope its the same box ::)roll i was shocked to b honist that it was gone at that milege 100,00 miles ide of expeced it mabuy but 47000 no thats just crazy  , also ive had to seal the wind screan drip tray as water was driping on the engine every time it rained now its sealed im hoping the injectors will b ok!! i here that water is the cause of most of the problims on these vans as it gets in the inlet manafold also a load of other things that can make the elictrics go rong  ecu, fues box, just to name a few ,ill b choping my van in about 90,000 ish so hope it dont cost to mch in thast time lol

The new hiace is the same as the dispatch/expert. Guessing Toyota don't make the old famously reliable hiace anymore because of stricter regulations regarding emissions.

I recently acquired a Citroen Dispatch.  It's the version with the 1200kg payload.  It can carry a 700 litre tank with ease, is pretty good on fuel (even with a ladder on top) and is smaller than my old Trafic - so easier to manoeuvre.  I've not yet had it long enough to expect problems, but the feel of it is a lot more solid.  Time will tell I guess, but I'm hopeful.

That is probably what I would get. I have the old shape 2.0hdi but plan to keep it a few more years. Although I would be tempted by the connect lwb.

Had my custom since new, coming upto a year and half old love it.

Awesome vans.

Cancelled order on the transit connect. When loaded with weight they are useless. Especially in reverse.

Either getting a T6 or another custom BUT i may go for the ugly transit hahahahahahahaahah

DON'T BUY A HIACE!

Mine's blown two tailight bulbs now in four years and the batteries won't wear out - nearly eight years old now and still running my pump - bloody useless. Might get a new gearbox and engine next year though - to keep the tax bill down. You Vauxhall guys don't know how lucky you are - I bet you don't pay any income tax!
