I've got a funny story to tell you if interest as today on my first gutter clearing job I already cleared the back and was just starting the front when a wfp windy pulled up and went to knock the door. Anyway we got chatting (nice chap) as turns out he cleaned their windows yesterday but did not get paid as they had no cash so called by today to collect his 12 squid.  I did mention to the windy when there was no reply at the door the old boy is as deaf as a post and was in the shower getting ready to go out.

To cut a long story short I paid the windy 12 squid for the window clean myself so he did not have waste his time calling back again to collect it. Mind you I did ask for a receipt and when I eventually spoke to the old boy he got into a bit of a flap. His wife had gone out and did not leave him enough to pay the both of us so paid me 90. 5 was towards the window cleaning bill...Bless him. I went on to say don't worry about the other 7 squid outstanding as you can have half a window clean on me.  Anyway his wife no sooner returned so I got paid the other 7 squid in the end.

I also found out his wife slipped on the algae infested concrete  steps leading down to the front door and took a tumble yesterday (injuring her head and face quite badly). So decided before leaving I would  clean the steps ( using hypo) at no extra charge.

It's nice to do a good dead to others once in a while don't you think?

I think it's the way I have been brought up to help others if you can especially old folk in need.
Sometimes it's not always about money but being in the position to do a good dead once in a while without wanting for anything in return can go a long way to inner peace for sure.

Mind you some old folk can take the mick too if not careful as there are some very sly ones about

I find it's not unusual whilst on the tools to pick up jobs be it by walk ups, just being friendly saying hello to people I see in the street etc. The job I mentioned earlier I just said hello to the old chap that lived next door to the property I was working on as he was out the front.  I then just pointed to the grass growing out of his guttering and asked if he would like me to clear his guttering too.

I had no idea that he had a regular wfp window cleaner at that time that also offers gutter clearing but I still got the job.  Just goes to show if you don't ask you don't get I suppose.

Mind you the old boy did notice what came out of the front guttering next door and the tools I was using which may of helped a wee bit.

I'm not trying to be funny but its still November, if I was looking for a window cleaner and they said They could not clean for me until after xmas or new year  I'd keep looking.
