Result!

Just called a guy - referral from another customer - who lives in a nearby village. I explained he lived a little bit outside of my area and that I'd need half a day to a  days work to justify traveling out. He has offered to do some leafleting and canvassing for me since he knows everyone in the village.

I'm well pleased -  ;D.

That's what they all say....Some come good and others just say that to get you out there  ;D

Mind you if they do drum up interest I've found it's normally works out rather well.

Don't get to excited. Many people say this.

Get excited when you see the results :)

Thanks both I'll bear this in mind. Might do a bit of canvassing myself before I commit.

I had one like that in a village that was too far too travel. This lady got me three more in their cul de sac for the first visit, plus two conservatories. I then got my marketing director (wife) to leaflet the village and now have a day's work there. Not all from the first trip out, but after around a year and a further leaflet drop.

I had the same. The lady lived 25 miles away and promised to get me some customers in her estate. To her credit she did get me a few, and as a token of my gratitude I did her first clean free of charge.

That was a mistake in itself, as she seemed to expect me to clean hers for free every time! And most of the customers she got me were slow/non payers as well.

I stuck this out for over a year (yeah I know  ::)roll)  and was on the point of sacking off the whole area, when I picked up a couple of new customers and decided to give it a little longer.

Well my perseverance has paid off, and now I have a really good day's work there, with a second day coming along as well now. It's as regular as clockwork every 4 weeks, everyone now pays on the day and there's seldom (if ever) a 'not today'. I've sacked off all the slow/non payers. Some of them have even approached me recently (thinking I've forgotten/forgiven their debts)!

Life is good!
