so i plumbed in this heater last weekend.first time using it this morning.this gives off some serious heat!35-40 degrees at brush end on MIN SETTINGS.

the ignition only works on min flow settings(on the heater) and p.s.i of 60-80 on pump which is fine as i work with a high flow anyway.

could i crack glass at these temperatures if outside air temperature is 0 or below?

i suppose  temperature at brush end would be more like 25-30 in colder weather due to hose on cold/freezing ground etc.

i was working with a big grin on my face this morning until the rain arrived!ive not worked with hot water since i knackered my heater on boxing day last year due to not draining it properly(that was an L5).

snail trails,bird strikes and bird muck all scrubbed off easier as well as the little black dots on white UPVC frames.nice warm supple hose and WARM HANDS!

i was until alex gardiner brought out 100m of microbore that can be used with hot water up to 55degrees without delamination!

it was having to use heavier "hot water" hose that was most of the faff.the orange thermobore split and bubbled on me and the red thermobore plus was way too heavy to use every day(minibore).

ill mainly use it for first cleans and add on jobs and a few months during the winter.the rest of the time ill use cold water.

I bought one of these from corwoods, never got round to putting it in the van, and with the pressure washer and gas bottle next to each other, I decided not to bother and fitted it into a friends van who does a few jobs with me, hot water is fantastic but I did say about what your concern is.

IMO.

I think it will crack the glass in temperatures as low as 0 if you have it on that hot, is there a temp dial that you can lower it, ( mine never ) maybe at at lower temp may be ok but I would be bit concerned about it

You'll use it for first cleans that won't last long before its on all the time lol,I used an L5 when I first used hot and the 8mm minibore I was using kinked it was so hot lol

You need good quality brushes with hot water or they will be ruined in no time,the Xline type bristles are perfect for hot water n

All these hoses are made of  P U this material will work fine under 65 degrees it when it over that becomes a problem with distortion and delamination.

I personally found the L10 too hot even on minimum settings, especially in winter where thermal shock is a much bigger issue - I switched for 5L & 6L rated heaters & found the heat output much more suitable for WFP...

i have stiff bristle versions of gardiners SL,radius sill and extreme brushes as well as SL medium mixed,SL black flocked,and various supreme brushes.

i was using a medium hybrid supreme today and it was fine with hot water.

naww.working with hot water is much more comfortable.i have vision in my tank too!

Regarding the type of heater for variable flow & heat I found a chepo fastar 8l an ideal little gas water heater.
