Hi i am new to this site,

I have been in the cleaning industry for a number of years now, i have picked up a new customer who brought a fake suede sofa, it came with no after care instuctions. she has split a few things over it, wine both red and white, bit of a mess really. at present it is coated with teflon 2000, can any one advise on the best method of cleaning it, there are no deep stains on it.

If it is the same as i have previosly cleaned, use prochem prespay gold, lightly spray, agitate with a soft brush, towel down to remove dirt or if bad use machine with acid rinse. obviosly pre test.

In the past when i have done these normally spray, brush, towel and they look fantastic

Hi Jeff,

I've cleaned 3 or 4 fake suede sofas after contacting prochem and asking their advice. They said fake suede is okay to wet clean (NOT REAL SUEDE THOUGH!) and suggested fabric restorer, light agitation and fibre and fabric rinse to extract which worked a treat. I've attached a picture of the one I did a couple of weeks ago, this time I tried solutions no. 2 and plain water rinse. It worked equally as well. Both have taken out general stains, not sure about red wine though!

Also just to add had a phone call from the customer of this suite a day later saying it was dry in 4 hours and how happy she was! She'd thought about replacing it but said it was "as good as new" and the best money she'd ever spent. I'd clean fake suede and draylon suites all day long as I consider them by far the easiest to clean.

I have a good b&a of a fake suede suite aswell, this footstool was covered in baby sick and biro.  Fabric Restorer, Fab Clean and Red Rx soon sorted it out though

Go easy on the fake suede to start with.. Test well on a bit at the back. I had one a while ago that was a little worn and not microfibre and shed like mad. Looked OK when finished. Microfibre fabric seems as tough as old boots though.

I have cleand 2 of these in the last 3 days!! i used MS no4 and a mit, then spotted with number 3, the other suite was filthy so i used B108 fabric restorer and b109 fiber and fabric rise this one also cleaned up lovely!!
