Inline TDS
« on: September 22, 2015, 04:59:05 pm »
I am going to make some changes to how my 4040 is setup and was thinking about putting in an inline TDS meter, are they OK as good as a handheld or has anyone had any problems?

Matt.

When I get a chance mate am going to be fitting one, they must be just as accurate as the hand held ones or there abouts and for the costs it's ok.

Mine works fine.

'In' is on the hose between the r/o and di vessel and 'Out' is after the di. This helps me tweak the waste gate for optimum r/o efficiency and also to keep a track on the resin in the di vessel.

http://www.daqua.co.uk/inlinetdsmeters.htm

HM Digital DM-2: Commercial In-Line Dual TDS Meter (third item down.)

Order with 1/2" fittings for a 4040 which is what I use.

The 'inlet' probe is behind the di vessel so it can't be seen. It on the yellow hose that is the pure outlet from the r/o. It registers the rejection rate of the r/o.

The second probe is after the di vessel and can be clearly seen. The probe is fitted exactly the same way on the hose before the di. The hose goes off into my IBC tank.

The TDS meter has an on/off button and then two buttons to switch between inlet and outlet.  It stays on for a time (not sure how long) and then will switch off, so saving batteries.
