Hi all,
I first came across this site back in Nov when I was looking for a change of career and was considering buying a franchise, after reading many of the posts on this forum I decided against that option and then pushed the entire idea of a career change to the back of my mind.
The company I work for is now looking to make a large number of us redundant and whilst I wait to see if I am one of those I am again looking for that career change should I get the offer, in fact if I don’t get the offer I am going to change anyway as I have had enough of working for other people.
I currently work in IT and for some reason I keep getting drawn to the cleaning industry so am now considering setting up my own cleaning company. I obviously have a lot of work to do before I can even get to the starting line so I would be interested to hear from anyone on the North East who could give me the low down on the current market, the services in demand and as a newbie what are the best markets/services to target first, and the do’s and don’ts.
My current thinking sees me doing the bulk of the work initially to learn from the ground up and then when (if) the work available allows me to start employing people.
I aim to start with a basic package of services:
Residential
Small offices
Carpet Cleaning
Great site and please keep up the interesting posts.
