I've done it for a few weeks a couple of times in the last year due to my old van being in dock while a mystery fault was traced and having to use a rental vehicle.  All that lifting has had an effect on my arms with elbow and wrist suffering (getting better slowly).  I wouldn't want to do it all the time.

It's gunna be van mount for him . I've been going through my round in my head and it will work perfect with a hose out of both sliding doors . I suppose the only doubts I had was converting the back of the van  for 2 men . Thanks for all the replies all got me thinking . If anyone else is thinking of setting a lad on I got    A  £1500 grant towards his wage . Cleaning and environmental services . Really helpfull   They were . Gunna use the search button ( is it still crap ) to research what set up for 2 men  . Will probably get another thread going on that . Cheers barry

if you have a lot of window cleaning work to get through every week(like most of us!)then a van mount is far easier and more efficient overall.having to keep going back to the van to fill up is a ballache.on some properties id have to to fill up 2 or 3 times just to complete one job.

Do you put your backpacks on wheels or just carry em . How much hose do you have on them and how do you store the hose on the backpack . Cheers barry

I just carry them by the handle, I have approx. 10m of pole hose on my 18'  pole and I cut the hose coming out of the backpack down to about 6" so no dragging connections along the ground when carrying it.

Can't remember the make, I get them of ebay, they are 16 litre and light blue in colour, the same shape as the old WCW orange ones.

I would put backpack on a trolley if I needed it for extended use again.  When using them, I use an extra long piece of pole hose to save moving it as much.  Also, on the much larger jobs, I tend to "bump out" the building with containers of water - though it's surprising how little water you can get away with when you have to lug it around.

I've found Gardiner's version 3 to be far superior to any previous backpacks.  I don't know if it's been superceded.

Good one re cutting the backpack hose.  Never thought of that.
